Wild Ginger Living offers a wide range of fiber arts and crafts classes for ages that range from children through those just starting their second childhood. If you would like to get a private group together or have me teach at your venue, please read the following policies first.
- Please read the class description and venue requirements. Not every class is suitable for every venue. This is especially true for bath & body or soap making classes. These are messy, and require that your electrical system be able to handle two powerstrips with 8 hot plates and 8 stick blenders.
- The venue will be responsible for collecting class fees and making appointments in most cases.
- The only registration is a paid registration. Enough materials will be available for the maximum students listed in the description, but due to the nature of the equipment and materials, walk-ins cannot be accepted if the class is already full.
- There is no minimum number of students for classes within Richland and Ashland Counties. Those outside of these areas must have at least two paid registrations at least 24 hours before the class, or the class will be canceled.
- Refunds of registration fees will not be given if the student cancels with less than 24 hours notice. No call / no shows will not be issued a refund.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR BATH & BODY AND SOAP MAKING CLASSES
- This class uses Lye which is highly corrosive and can be dangerous if not handled properly. For that reason, you must be over 18 to take this class. No exceptions.
- The venue must have sufficient space to accommodate 8 hot plates and the ability for students to move around comfortably when working with the lye solution.
- The facility must have hot water available and a supply of running water close to the classroom. Water must be on the same floor as the classroom and either in the room where the class will take place or adjacent for safety reasons. No exceptions.
- The electrical system must be able to handle the load placed on it by the 8 hotplates and 8 stick blenders. The electrical panel box must be accessible to the employees of the facility just in case.
- Lye can ruin clothes, so students should be advised to wear something appropriate.
- Also, no open-toed shoes are allowed in class due to working with lye
- Safety glasses and appropriate gloves will be provided. It is the student’s responsibility to wear them.
