Scott is a “Johnny-come-lately” to gardening and sustainable living. There was a brief stint as a teenager when he helped his grandmother plant a small vegetable garden and tend to an ancient pear tree. He has always preferred to be out in the woods or on the water when he needs a place to get away.
His transformation into “up-and-coming permaculture gardener” began in 2022 when he met and married Ginger and said yes to her request to plant a few garden plots.
In a previous life – before the beard and long hair – he was a computer systems analyst and cybersecurity professional. It is obvious to no one, including himself, how he uses those skills in the day-to-day operations of Wild Ginger Living. He is frequently called upon to “engineer” Ginger’s amazing ideas.
Under Ginger’s patient and watchful eye, Scott is developing into a real gardener, herbalist, and small scale farmer. There is already a slight tint of green to his thumbs.
Scott is exploring what getting back to nature means, permaculture as a way of living that goes beyond what we plant, and pondering the re-wilding of his fellow human beings. He is the often whimsical, sometimes philosophical story-teller of Wild Ginger Living.
