At Wild Ginger Living we are all about living life simply and going back to more natural and ancient ways and doing so with style and pizzazz. In a world that is increasingly complex, we found ourselves feeling disconnected from our roots and the world around us.

Ginger grew up on a 100-acre farm in southern Ohio and comes from a long line of farmers on both sides of the family. Even though there was a common thread of farming on both sides, they were from two different worlds. Her mother’s side of the family owned thousands of acres and used modern factory farming production methods, largely producing corn, soybeans, and cattle on a massive scale. On her Dad’s side, things looked quite different. Her Grandmother and Great Grandmother taught her about the sacred connection with the land and about her indigenous heritage. From them, she learned about planting the three sisters and not taking more than you need. These contrasting worldviews give her a unique perspective.

Scott grew up in a small town in North Central Ohio and spent most of his time living in small communities around Mansfield, Ohio. Even though he did not have an extensive farming background, from an early age, he felt a strong connection with the natural world. Feeling the need to get out of the city, he bought a 1/4-acre plot in Olivesburg, Ohio in 2019 intending to do something with it, but not knowing what. Then, he met Ginger who immediately had ideas of what to do with the 1/4 acre besides growing a lawn. At first, Scott went along for the ride, but under Ginger’s careful and patient tutoring, he developed quite the green thumb. As a newcomer, Scott is exploring what it means to have a deeper connection to nature and ancient ways.
